So That's Where All the Dirt Has Gone

I have been teaching creation from Genesis to my young boys class on Wednesday nights for the last six weeks. Last night we finished, talking about how God rested. As we were going back over the days of creation, I mentioned that God had formed Adam/man out of dust or dirt. One of the boys in my class chimned in, "Yes, God made man and woman and kids from dirt." Then I heard him say to himself, "No wonder we've been loosing dirt in our backyard. My mom has four kids."

Ministering to Missionaries Kids

I have just been invited to take my ministry to children to Ghana, Africa this summer to minister to the children of missionaries in Africa. I am very excited and am looking for all the prayers I can get! This is a retreat for missionaries, and I will get to work with their kids over about four days.

I had been invited about four years ago, but had to turn the opportunity down at the time, so I'm so excited that I have been asked again to come. At the time, I had never flown...yeah, I know, sho… Continue

If you think puppets can't connect....

This week at TAG, my play day for kids, one of my 2nd grade boys came up and asked, "What are your puppet's doing?" He kind of caught me off guard, and I really didn't know what he was asking me. This boy is one of my rowdier kids and can be a little gruff and rough and one of those "I'm tougher than you are" kind of kids sometimes. Anyway, I had him repeat his question, not sure I knew what he was asking. He said, "Your puppets. How are they?"

"Fine," I told him.

"What's Scruffy doing?" Now S… Continue

TAG you're it!

For the past ten years I've been running a simple, but great program during the summer called TAG. TAG or Thursday Activities with Greg is a fun play day for kids K-6th grade. I think it was one of the first things I started back in my early part time days. TAG was simply something for kids to do, at our church building, together and all for fun. If I had dreamed it would last as long as it has, I might have thought out a little better name.

Since it's beginnings, we've done many things but it… Continue

Ready or not...it's camp!

Well, we are three days and counting until my preteen camp session blasts into 2008. Camp is one of the hardest, funnest, exciting, exhausting, thrilling, most stressful things that I do each year. Ah camp.

Camp was God's tool 15 years ago to break my heart and move me from dreams of making lots of money and retiring young to devoting my life to helping hurting kids by sharing God's love. You see, like so many others, God decided that subtle hints wouldn't work with me, so he put me in a cabin… Continue

Yeah, should've gotten on this a long time ago, but hey - I was slow to get on Facebook and Twitter too. Now I can't keep up with it all! Things are going very well. I miss WF, but maybe I will make it up there sometime soon. We'll get lunch.

Hello, Greg! I see you’re planning on attending CPC in Nashville—how exciting!

I’d like to invite you to a very special Summer Program Focus Group. It will be a great opportunity for you to talk to VBS product developers about your summer program likes, dislikes, and wish lists. This group will be held on Wednesday, January 7th, 8:00–9:00am, in Ryman Studio MFO of the Gaylord Opreyland Hotel.

Get your voice heard, have some fun, and network with fellow cmconnect members! Your opinion is very important, so I hope to see you there!

Feel free to write me back if you have any questions.

Blessings on your ministry,

Rebekah Largent

Hi Greg,
It was nice to hear from you. What have you been up to?
This summer has been sooo hot!!! I am ready for Fall. I'm in the process of planning our Back to School Block Party (Fun in the Son). It's always alot of fun and I just love to see all the kids having a good time. I'm still trying to work my way around this site. I'm really glad I found it. / Let me know what you've been up to...
